I've been greatly enjoying a (fairly) new blog that regularly scans and posts old book art. This one's from a post about medical doctor Marcello Malpighi (1628-1694), whom you can read about more at the site.
Highly recommend for the "images and art" category of your blogroll...
There's even a nice chelicerata post about a clergyman that studied spiders and ants and then made fairy tale books about them!
