Last Shot

I think many of us believe that there will be some kind of surprise appearing before the election, some kind of last shot approach from McCain.

I've just realized, however, that I had been assuming that it would be a big, newsworthy event of some sort, some clear announcement.

But now I think it will instead be a small item that will bubble up in the world of rightwing blogs - some kind of detail that gets hammered out over and over and spreads until it appears on every news channel and a loud chorus is demanding that Obama "denounce" or "apologize" just a few days before the election.

I'll keep an eye out.
