No explanation at the flickr page, so I'm assuming that's an...um...baby scorpion crawling on the leg?

Heck yeah. I have a vivid memory of my dad whacking a big scorpion off the wall in our living room in Texas when I was a kid. As it (she) fell to the floor, all of these tiny baby scorpions flew off of her back. This is how I learned that mother scorpions carry babies around on their backs. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing is- I remember the babies looking exactly like the adults, except for being the size of a fruit fly. This guy looks like a tick or something. Maybe he is a newborn.
